Melva Joyce Asher

Melva Joyce Asher, 82, of Orange, died, Wednesday, August 08, 2007, at Harbor Hospital of Orange. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August, 10, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. At the request of Mrs. Asher her son in law, Jerry Lunsford will officiate. Larry Tomlin of Orangefield Church of Christ will assist. Graveside service and burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 11, 2007, at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, TX. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Mrs. Asher was born April 3, 1925, in McKinney, TX, to Bentley Rose and Nancy Fisher Rose. She was a resident of Orange where she was a homemaker and member of Orangefield Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Asher, parents, Bentley and Nancy Rose and two sisters, Anna Lee Campbell and Mogie Schweitzer.She is survived by her daughter, Aundria Lunsford and husband Jerry of Orange; grandchildren, Robert Lunsford and wife Crystal, Richard Lunsford and wife Tanya,; great grandchildren, Ashley, Colby, Jamey and Tanner. Other survivors are her brother, Earl Rose of Arlington, TX and sister, Veva Savage of Houston, TX. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
