A Memorial in honor of Lexlie A. DeRyke will be Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel located at 1155 N. 11th Street, Beaumont, TX
Mrs. DeRyke departed from this life on July 17, 2007 after a long struggle with emphysema. She was born Lexlie Ann Greer on October 13, 1935, in Hallsville, TX to Syble Walls and the late Jimmy Greer. She married James Maxie Jeane at the age of 16 and had four children.
Moving to Beaumont in 1958, she worked for the Pig Stand Co. for many years, and graduated from Lonnie?s Beauty School in 1960. Mother was a character for sure. She either had you rolling with laughter or kept you in tears. But whatever the case, it was all or nothing with her.
Her greatest accomplishment was her four children. She was very proud and committed to each of us and when it came to them, we never did anything wrong in her eyes. It was always the other guy?s fault. Sure Mom, we had her fooled.
She is survived by her mother, Syble Greer, 93, of Beaumont, and sister, Ellen Sylvester of MN.
Lexlie?s legacy of her beloved family: Dian and Syd Srader, JJ and Ray Singletary, Mike and Rochelle Jeane, and Gary and Lysbin Jeane; Special Nieces and Nephews; Penny Smith, Charles and Tabitha Greer, Jimmy K. Greer, and Mike Frazier; Grandchildren; Rachel and John Cain, Shane and Michelle Singletary, Barron and Tamara Royer, Shawn and Tony Singletary, Dana and Kiley Farrow, Bradd and Alyse Royer, Chad and Dee Dee Srader, Tiffiany and Bengi Major, Stephaine Jeane, Austin Hebert, Andrew Jeane and Joseph Jeane; Great-grandchildren, Joseph Festa, Jessica Brooks, Heather Singletary, Haley Royer, Kaley Farrow, Bradd Royer, Jr., Hanna Royer and Ava Royer; Nieces and Nephews; Linda and Bill Thomas, Judy and Barry Campbell, Paula Sylvester, Greg Sylvester, Jason Greer, Lauren and Chris Warren, Jacob Greer, Hunter Greer and Katie Frazier; Great Nieces and Nephews; Alyssa and Athyn Warren; Aunts and Uncles, Polly Greer, Ruth Dale and Virgil Sandlin, Finis Greer, Robert and Cleo Greer.
