Born on August 1, 1946, in Staten Island, New York, Frank was no ordinary man – but one that engaged life with an enthusiasm that shadowed everyone he came in contact with. He was a kind, compassionate man who loved the One God Apostolic message and was a member of the Apostolic Church of Lumberton, where his faith flourished and deepened, embodying the values he held dear throughout his life. Frank was instrumental in working with Reverend Henry McKinley for over two years in establishing an Apostolic church in Landstuhl, Germany and saw many souls reap the benefit of a soul saving station in their journey of life. To know Frank was to love him for the great statue and legacy he left.
Frank met and married the love of his life, Vicky, in the sixties and enjoyed a 58-year honeymoon of total commitment. One vow they always kept, even when they disagreed on a subject, was that they would never go to bed without making everything sweet. As a father, he celebrated the births of his children, welcoming his son, Anthony, on October 27, 1972, followed by his daughter, Julie, on December 28, 1973.
A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army, exemplifying dedication and service both in and out of uniform. Frank made anything he started an uplifting experience and thus so he was a programmer with Entergy for over 40 years of dedication. Frank was a man of great character, known for his sweetness, humor, and love of spaghetti. His absence will be profoundly felt, yet his spirit lives on through the many lives he touched and inspired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Filomena Burgess, and his beloved son, Anthony David Burgess.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vicky Medley Burgess; his daughter, Julie A. Burgess Trahan and her better half, Chance; his granddaughters, Elizabeth AnnMarie Lasuzzo and husband, Michael Angelo Lasuzzo, Mary Catherine Landry, Megan Burgess, and Ariana Burgess; his great-granddaughter, Zoey Genevieve Lasuzzo; his brother, Ronald Burgess; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Preston Tannehill, Gavin Woodard, Chance Noonkester, Jerry Tanton, Robert Thompson, and Malcolm.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
