Bill Edd Dixon, Jr., 71, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on February 21, 2026, in Beaumont.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 28, 2026, at McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Orange, with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. Officiating will be Reverend Tommy Anthony.
Born in Orange, Texas, on January 28, 1955, he was the son of Bill Edd Dixon, Sr. and Glenda Loe Dixon. A pillar of his community, Bill dedicated his life to service, education, and nurturing future generations. Bill was a long-time member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church in Orange, where he served as a Deacon. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, inspiring those around him. He made significant contributions to the Bridge City Independent School District, where he worked for many years as a teacher and coach. He played a vital role in shaping the lives of countless students, instilling in them the values of hard work and perseverance. In addition to his teaching career, Bill also served as the municipal court judge in Bridge City. His commitment to justice and service extended beyond the classroom, as he provided leadership and guidance to the community he loved. A talented videographer, Bill captured many moments and memories during Bridge City Friday Night High School Football games, where he also announced stats with enthusiasm and precision. Affectionately known as "Paw Paw" to his grandchildren, Bill's larger-than-life personality and deep love for his family endeared him to many. His warmth and kindness created lasting memories for all who knew him. Bill was well-loved in his community, and his love for life resonated through his countless acts of generosity and encouragement. As we remember Bill, we honor a man whose legacy of love, community service, and dedication will live on in the heart of Bridge City and in the lives he touched. His will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Glenda Dixon; and sister-in-law, Susan Dixon.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 29 years, Mary Dixon; his son, Robert Jacob Reynolds and wife, Orianna of Bridge City; his grandchildren, Alston Reynolds, and Christopher Reynolds; his brother, Obie Dixon and wife, Melinda; his nephews, Scott Dixon, Joel Dixon and wife, Sarah, and Will Dixon and wife, Melissa; His niece, Lindsey Gasperino; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
