Kerry was the beloved husband of Deborah Caillouet and the proud father to his four daughters: Cassie Bearden, Amy Garza, Leslie Romero, and Carlie Duplechin, and was blessed to have two bonus children, Macie Jackson and her husband Coty, and Austin Bergeron and his wife Kaylee.
His sons-in-law who were always there to be his helpers were Austin Romero, Jimsharon Bearden, Kody Duplechin, and BG Garza.
He was the best Paw to Silas, Luke, Henry, Lucy, Haven, Bodie, Liv, Lia, Krewe, Grady, Hollyn, Hallie, and our “bigs”, JS, Hutch, and Hallie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Georgie Mae Caillouet, and his late wife, his soulmate, Myra Caillouet.
He is also survived by his siblings Ricky Caillouet, Cathy Guyote, Sandy Staton, Chris Caillouet, Brenda Caillouet, Robin Barrett, Colleen Owens, and Kelly Caillouet.
Kerry began his maritime career in 1987 working aboard tugboats on the Neches River. Through dedication and hard work, he worked his way up to tug captain before becoming a Sabine Pilot at just 38 years old, a role he faithfully served in for more than twenty years. He took great pride in doing his job right, and sacrificed much sleep and time with family during his working weeks.
Outside of work, Kerry loved the outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, or cooking for a crowd, he was happiest surrounded by family and friends. He loved spending time at the lake and hosting so many get-togethers while working the speaker that always led to dancing on the concrete.
If there was a leaf out of place, Kerry had probably already taken care of it—no one used a leaf blower more, and his driveway was easily the cleanest in town.
Kerry was known for giving wisdom, directions, and the correction when needed—and those who loved him wouldn’t have had it any other way. His “no-good sons-in-law,” whom he loved to tease, especially knew this well. His humor, guidance, and steady presence shaped the lives of those around him.
Above all, Kerry was the best Paw. He loved taking his grandchildren on nighttime walks through the woods with nothing but the moonlight to guide them, teaching them to be tough while filling those moments with laughter and stories they will never forget.
Kerry enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a man of great humor and great honor, someone whose love for his family was unwavering. There will never be another Kerry.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace, healed, and at home with God — His eternal adventure.
We love you forever.
