Born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on December 8, 1928, she was the daughter of Henry Heflin, Sr. and Mary (Washburn) Heflin. Wilma took care of many children in her home daycare from 1978 until her health declined. Many considered her their grandmother keeping some of the children from 6 weeks old until school age and after school. Wilma was a devout Christian and loved her church. She was a member of Circle Drive Baptist Church and made cookies for many years for Bible School. She loved to bake and was known for her wonderful Christmas candy. She was also known for her rolls and fried pies that were favorites of family and friends. Wilma loved to sew, embroider and quilt until her arthritis prevented her from doing so. She made baby quilts for so many newborns. She never really knew how talented she was. She will be greatly missed by many, she touched so many lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry, Sr. and Mary Heflin; husband, J.W. Jenkins; and brother, Henry Heflin, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammie Williams and husband George of Orange; grandson, Logan Boyett of Orange; step-great-grandsons, Seth Courtney of Houston and Kirby Courtney of College Station; nephews, Wayne Heflin, Gary Heflin and Jason Heflin of Nacogdoches; and niece, Barbara (Sissy) McDaniel of Nacogdoches.

Serving as pallbearers will be George Williams, Ronnie Shugart, Wayne Hefllin, Jason Heflin, Ronnie Platt and Michael Barber. Honorary pallbearers are David Poole, Benny Stevens and Melvin Boyett, Jr. and Sam Comer.

It's all over. Yesterday, Aunt Wilma's body was laid to rest. I was at the hospital right after she passed and I know when she drew her last breath, her spirit left her body, but for me, it doesn't really feel real until the funeral and the cemetery. Aunt Wilma looked beautiful and Tammie had brought some of her beautiful embroidered pictures and handmade quilts to display. These were pictures and quilts that Aunt Wilma made every stitch by hand! Tammie did a wonderful job making sure everything was perfect! Now that the numbness is over, it sets in that I will never see my wonderful Aunt Wilma again. I have spent most of my 65 years loving her so much. My favorite childhood memories are of time spent with Uncle JW, Aunt Wilma, and Tammie. Uncle JW gave me away at my wedding. I loved spending time with all 3 of them. She made so many kids and adults lives better by just knowing her. Aunt Wilma had a loving, caring, and kindness about her that was rare. The only thing that makes this all bearable is knowing she is finally with Uncle JW and no longer in pain! Tammie and I both said we could see them both so happy to see each other and hugging, holding hands. She knew Tammie and Logan were going to be ok now, very sad but ok, and she could go be with her husband and feel no more pain. Tammie, I told Aunt Wilma in a prayer that I was going to help George look out for you, so don't make me take you to the wood shed...LOL I think she and Uncle JW were watching over all of us at the cemetery. The birds were chirping so loud and there was such a nice breeze that seemed to start blowing when we got there. Aunt Wilma, I love you so much and I can't believe you are gone. You will be FOREVER in my thoughts and heart! Tammie, I love you, Logan, and George and if any of you ever need anything, I am here for you, Cuz!

I first meant Wilma several years ago and never will forget her. My wife and I came to Orange Tx. to visit my Son George Williams, and Tammy, Wilma's Daughter. Wilma always made you feel good, no mater how she was feeling. Wilma always was ready to have fun razing each other and her and my Son was fun to watch going at each other. Even when Wilma was so sick for a long time, she always had a since of Humor. We all will miss her very much, but it is comforting to know she is in Heaven with Jesus, Whom she Loved We will be Praying for all the family as they go thru this difficult time. God Bless and we Love you, Ed and Doris Williams

I will always remember Mrs. Jenkins, I use to throw the paper years ago and I she was on my route and I always throwed her paper in the same spot everyday and she gave a thank you card for always throwing her paper in the same spot everyday. Then years later I became her neighbor. Very sweet lady I know that she will be missed.
