William Henry Schmidt

Bill Schmidt, born on October 8, 1942, passed away on April 5, 2026, in Bridge City, TX.

Bill proudly served in the United States Army, spending the bulk of his time stationed in Germany. He dedicated 57 years of his life to International Papermill, where he was known as a hard worker, and one of the longest standing workers at the mill. Outside of work, his passion lied in motorcycles; he loved working on them and riding them any chance he could. In his downtime, he enjoyed watching TV and spending time with his beloved family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn Schmidt; his step-sons, Robert, Michael, and Alan; his brother, Johnny Schmidt; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Christina "Chrissy" Schmidt; and his sister, Catherine Woodfin.
