Tiajuana Irene Smith

Tiajuana Irene Barnes, born December 22, 1930, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in her home in Mauriceville, Texas, surrounded by her husband and family.

Tiajuana was united in marriage to Johnnie Ray Smith on June 25, 1949. Their marriage of 76 years was a testament to enduring love, commitment, and family. She was deeply devoted to family and the church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Nancy Smith and Nina Oldbury; her parents; her brother and sister; and her great-great-grandson.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 76 years, Johnnie Ray Smith; her granddaughter Lisa Oldbury Worthy and husband Clifton Worthy; her grandson Jonathan Oldbury and wife Jaime Oldbury; along with great-grandchildren George Gentzsch and Samantha Gentzsch, Hannah Journeay and Justin Journeay, Cade Worthy, Leila Worthy, and Nathan Oldbury and great-great-grandchildren Ryleigh, Carson, and Ava Journeay who will continue to carry her legacy forward.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Mauriceville with Reverend Kevin Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Bland Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Oldbury, Nathan Oldbury, Donald Oldbury, Justin Journeay, Clifton Worthy, and Jerry White.
