Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Clarence Brown.

Terry dedicated his career as a Maintenance Electrician and was a proud member of the IBEW. Outside of work, he found great joy in the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. Terry was deeply family-oriented, a value he lived out through his involvement with Pop Warner and Little League when his children were young. He also enjoyed his time as a referee with the Southeast Texas Refereeing Association.

Terry is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Nell Richard; his son, Chris Richard and wife Crystal; and his bonus daughter, Deborah Michel and husband Jeremy. He was a cherished grandfather to Makenzie Matherne, Casen Nidini, Kynlee Richard, Bayllie Hamrick, Brynllie Hamrick, and Brytllie Hamrick, and a great-grandfather to one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Sue Cobb and husband Jerry; nephew, Joshua Cobb; and additional family members, Don and Ellen Pruett.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lester and Barbara Richard, and his son, Chad Richard.

The family extends a special thank you to Heart-to-Heart Hospice, Maria Cobos, and Paula Aven for their compassionate care.

Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

So sorry I will not be able to make the service. I loved Uncle Terry when I saw how much he loved you Aunt Mary. I could tell he made you happy and you made him happy. Your love for each other was a beautiful thing to see. The strength you have shown over the past three years caring for him has amazed me. I send my continued prayers for you Aunt Mary and for Terry's family. We'll do something special to celebrate his life when I get home!
