Sterlin Wade Stringer
Sterlin Wade Stringer, 51, of Orange, Texas, passed away on September 7, 2015, in Orange, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, with the family receiving guests at 1:00pm, Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Ashcraft. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30pm-9:00pm, Friday, September 11, 2015 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on November 7, 1963, he was the son of Merrill Avner Stringer, Jr. and June Ann (Hamilton) Stringer. He was the proud owner of Show Gun Collision and Custom Cars. Sterlin was a loving father, son, brother, and soul-mate. He graduated from Little-Cypress Mauriceville High School. He loved boating, jet skiing, racing motorcycles, cars, and four wheelers. He was a master martial artist, with a fifth degree black belt. He was also a master artist who customized and airbrushed thousands of vehicles from all over the United States. He won, and placed at, many prestigious car shows, including the Heat Wave. He was young at heart and loved children and animals. He supported the OCARC and was a teacher, mentor, and father figure to many young people. Sterlin was a very strong man with a kind, soft heart, who will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Colin Stringer; grandparents, Pauline and Merrill Avner Stringer, Sr. and June and Morgan James Hamilton; uncles, Robert Glenn Hamilton and Glenn Sanders.
Sterlin is survived by his loving fiancée and Soul-mate, Lori Renee Harrison of Orange; his daughter, Lauren Nicole Stringer of Orange; parents, Merrill Avner, Jr. and June Ann Stringer of Orange; and sister, Dena Alaine Stringer of Maryland.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bubba Parker, Jay Fogel, Darren Peveto, Van Choate, John Kennedy, Karl Vanderstucken, Eric Hammett, Greg Beckett, and Jeff Parrish. Honorary pallbearers will be William Glenn Hamilton, Tracy Stringer, Lance Stringer, Lee Stringer, Jimmy Stringer, Suzi Stringer Nesbit, Buddy Strickland, and Greg Beckett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to OCARC at 905 Park Street, Orange, Texas 77630.

To Dena and her family, I have worked with Dena for around 10 years and have heard many stories about Sterlin. I know that he was a good person and loved by many especially is sister. I hope that you find comfort in continuing to tell the stories of his life. He will forever be in your heart and will always be with you.

I only knew Sterlin from the stories that Dena told, but I felt that I knew his personality from those. I could tell how proud she was of her brother and how much she loved him. I am so sorry for all of the family. June (and Merrill ), I cannot even imagine your grief. Dena, all of you are in my prayers. I would have been at the funeral but I'm out of town. Love you. You all are my family! You have no idea how much you mean to me and my family! Many great memories of the "Woodmont gang"! Bike races, Steal the Flag, building the treehouse, shooting fireworks at each other! Dena, Sterlin was your biological brother but you know he was my brother too when we were growing up...we sometimes fought like it but in later years we chared parent stories and laughed about our past! Lauren, your "stinky daddy" was a great man and loved by many! He worshipped you! June and Merrill, you can be comforted in knowing that his legacy is trying to make every moment count and living life to the fullest! He gave so much to so many and he is so loved for that! Lori, you have been by him through thick and thin and I give you so much credit for loving him unconditionally all these years...amazing!
