Shirley Jean Goodeaux, 62, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on January 11, 2020, in Beaumont, Texas.
Born in Orange, Texas, on July 13, 1957, she was the daughter of Noble Hughes and Charlie Mae (Mooneyham) Hughes. Shirley was a wonderful mom, and being a Nana was the greatest joy of her life. She was so proud of her family. Shirley loved going fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys play, and listening to Elvis Presley. She also enjoyed going shopping and would never pass up an opportunity to make a run to the Dollar Store. Shirley was known to always have a Coke in her hand and a candle lit inside of her house. She was a great woman who loved when her friends and family would gather together, and they always flocked to her table when Shirley made her fried chicken. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Charlie Mae Hughes; her sister, Dot Wiegand; her brother, Ronnie Gerald; and her sister-in-law, Linda Hughes.
She is survived by her partner, Terry Morgan of Bridge City; her children, Louis Joseph Goodeaux, Jr. of Orange, Melissa Goodeaux Bienvenue and husband Robert of Orange, and Chad Martin Goodeaux of Orange; her grandchildren, Damien Drake Hickey and Brittney Nicole Hickey; her siblings, Mary Hickey, Sue Anderson, Judy Hughes, June Chambers, Larry Hughes, and Jerry Hughes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
