Sheila Fite Stelly, 52, of Orange, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Bridge Point Fellowship Church, 1355 W. Roundbunch Road, Bridge City, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Lance Faulkner of Bridge Point Fellowship Church, and Reverend Todd DeVaney of Fellowship Greenville in Greenville, SC. Cremation will be performed under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on May 5, 1961, Sheila was the daughter of Bill and Jo Fite. She was a retired certified legal assistant. Sheila was a loving and joyful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She had a special love for Shangri La, and enjoyed volunteering there and helping the children who attended.
Preceded in death by her father, Bill Fite, Sheila is survived by her husband, Mike Stelly of Orange; mother, Jo Fite of Orange; daughters, Brooke Douget and husband Will of Humble, Kelsey Stelly of Fort Worth; son, Conner Stelly of Orange; grandchildren, Jake Secondi and Brynne Douget; and brother, Kyle Fite of Houston.

I worked at Shangri La for a short while and it was always such a joy to see Sheila walking up to the bus stop. She always brought joy and light to every person she interacted with and every child she worked with. I've missed working with her and I am very sad that she won't be there when I visit.

The Bible lets us know that because a person dies, that does not mean he/she cannot live again. Jesus likened death to a sleep from which a person can be awakened. (John 11:11-14) Right now, Sheila is asleep waiting to be awakened by Jesus back to life right here on the earth. This time, though, when Sheila comes back to life, she will not be sick, in pain, or have to die again. Sheila will be missed. Memories of her go way back to our school days when we were on the drill team together and also when she went to work for Steve Carlton, my dad's partner at the law firm. I admired her for how much she had achieved at such a young age. Many thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
