Sandra Jean Caraway, 76, of Deweyville, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2023, peacefully at her daughter’s home.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2023, at Deweyville Cemetery in Deweyville, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend John Fortenberry.

Born in Orange, Texas, on August 24, 1946, she was the daughter of Jodie Caraway and Billie Ola (Wilkerson). Sandra had a kind heart and wonderful soul. She was a graduate and Valedictorian of Deweyville High School. Sandra was faithful to her God and loved to share the word of the Lord. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and would often feed the raccoons. Sandra loved animals very much and even raised a squirrel from a baby for 13 years. In her free time, she would collect fine porcelain dolls. Sandra was deeply loved and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Billie Caraway; brother, Joe Caraway, Sr.; and granddaughter, Whittney Loignon.

She is survived by her sons, James Wesley Glass and wife, Stacey, and Billy Jackson Glass; daughters, Melissa Ann Glass, and Julie Lynnette Glass and husband, Robert Santel; grandchildren, Aidan Glass, Jose Hernandez, Ezikel Hernandez, Marissa Hernandez, Leaticia Hernandez, Kenneth Wilson, Amy Glass, Megan Glass, Julia Loignon, Brittney Loignon, Jeremiah Glass, Nathaniel Glass; siblings, Dorothy Rheel and Clarence Curl and wife, Ginger; nieces, Sandy Nelms and Helen Laird; as well as other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Granny will be deeply missed and she was definitely a joy to be around. She would always pray with me and for me after every boy I had with her. She made me fell like I was one for her own family. Never would she let me call her Mrs. Caraway it had to be Granny. I will miss her so :cry::innocent:
