Samantha “Sam” Swanson, 44, of Orange, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with Pastor Steve Neil officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Born in Karlstad, Minnesota, on October 21, 1973, she was the daughter of James Thomas Olson and SuzAnne Gudmundson. Sam worked as a Pro Desk Representative for Home Depot. She enjoyed doing crafts and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sam loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Thomas Olson; and her brother, Russell Eugene Grebin.

Sam is survived by her loving husband, Gary R. Swanson; mother, SuzAnne Moe and step-father, James Moe, of Vidor; children, Devin Ray Swanson, of Orange, Kendra Lynn Swanson, of Orange, Amanda Brooke Swanson Moody and husband Patrick, of Orange, Tinesha Kaye Mix, of Denver, CO, Levi Conner James Mix and wife Marissa, of Huntsville, and Andrew Scott Swanson, of Orange; 12 grandchildren; and her siblings, Gina Childs and husband Boyd, of Vidor, Eric Jon Olson, of Orangefield, and Cynthia Sue Gohl, of Las Vegas.
