Robert Allen Witterstaeter

Robert Witterstaeter, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at the age of 77, in Beaumont, TX. Born on August 23, 1948, in Port Arthur, TX, to Leroy and Marion Witterstaeter. Robert lived a life rich in personal passions and deep connections.

Throughout his life, Robert found immense joy and fulfillment in a variety of interests that truly defined his spirit. He was an ardent and unwavering fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a loyalty he expressed with enthusiasm and dedication, eagerly following every game and season. Robert cherished the tranquility and adventure of the outdoors. Many of his happiest moments were spent fishing at Toledo Bend, a place that held a special significance in his heart. For many years, his beloved camp at 6 Mile served as a cherished retreat, offering countless hours of peaceful angling and creating lasting memories. Robert also enjoyed and possessed a spirited appreciation for fast cars, a testament to his vibrant zest for life and an admiration for speed and engineering.

Robert's legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his son's, Jeff Witterstaeter, and his wife, Laurie, who reside in Orange, TX; and Eli Witterstaeter, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Wallisville, TX. He also leaves behind his adored granddaughter, Olivia Grace Witterstaeter, and his dear niece, Cherry Lemire, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved partner of 15 years, Carol Posey, with whom he shared a deep and enduring bond, his parents and his brother, Tommy Witterstaeter.
