Robert Louis Kuchar, Sr.

Bobby Louis Kuchar Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, in Orange, Texas. He was born on April 11, 1946, in Port Arthur, Texas, to his loving parents, Wilbur Francis and Irene Lenore Siau Kuchar.

Bobby spent many years of his career as a Head Operator at Valero and was a proud veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His love and respect for his fellow veterans continued throughout his life as a devoted member of the Patriot Guard.

Bobby lived life with a passion and an adventurous spirit. He loved riding his Harley and was a proud member of the Gypsy MC. He also had a talent for working on and painting cars, and his love of speed naturally led him to racing. He took great pride in owning his own race car and enjoyed the excitement that came with being behind the wheel. An avid hunter, Bobby spent countless years enjoying the outdoors, and he especially cherished quiet days at his beach cabin, where he could fish, relax, and enjoy the life he loved.

Bobby was known for his BBQ, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than cooking for the people he loved. His BBQ was more than just a meal—it was a way of bringing family and friends together, creating memories around the table and sharing good food, laughter, and time together. These are the moments his loved ones will treasure and remember for years to come.

A man with an incredibly big heart, Bobby was always willing to help someone in need, especially those who were going through the hardest seasons of their lives. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and believed in giving people a fair chance to show him who they truly were. His generosity extended beyond his family and touched many people throughout his community.

Bobby was also a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life. But above all of the things he accomplished and all of the passions he pursued, Bobby’s greatest joy and pride was his family. He was a steady presence and an anchor of unconditional love and loyalty, always deeply invested in the people he loved.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Kathy Kuchar; his sons, Robert Kuchar Jr. and wife Liz, and Kevin Kuchar; and his daughters, Andi Kuchar, Misty East and husband Willy, and Alisha Joiner and husband Craig.

He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jade, Kelsey, Brendon, Katie, Caleb, Mike, Dylan, Kipton, Kaidance, and Tatum, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Karen Chevrette and husband Rick, Jeff Kuchar and wife Jackie, Fran Cole and husband Fred, and Kim Mannino and husband Larry.

Bobby also leaves behind his and Kathy’s beloved puppies, Zoey and Maggie, and their kitty, Binx, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Irene Kuchar.

Bobby leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, generosity, faith, and countless memories shared with the people who mattered most to him. His big heart, his willingness to help others, his love of family, and even the smell of his famous BBQ will forever be a part of the memories he leaves behind. Though he is deeply missed, the impact he made on the lives of those around him will continue to live on through his family and all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Calvery Baptist church in Deweyville, Texas.
