Richard Daniel Belk

Richard Daniel Belk, 89, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on September 22, 2026. He was born on October 16, 1936, in Port Arthur, Texas, to GS and Mary Belk.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Burial will follow after the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, he dedicated 37 years to Texaco before retiring. Richard had a passion for the outdoors, finding joy in crabbing and fishing. He was also a skilled home builder, constructing several of his own homes throughout his life. Richard cherished his travels across the United States with his late wife, Sharon. To his beloved grandchildren, he was affectionately known as "Paw Paw." He also enjoyed sharing a cold drink and good company with his buddies at local taverns.

He is preceded in death by his parents, GS and Mary Belk; his first wife and mother of his children, Betty Belk; his wife, Sharon Belk; his daughter, Rhonda Heartfield; his grandson, John Broussard; and his sister, Sue Winget.

Richard is survived by his son, Clint Belk and wife Linda; his daughters, Jennie Eveliegh and husband Rick, and Edie Gambrell and husband David. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Rachel Fincher and husband Doug, April Bulls and husband Matt, Jared Williams and wife Danni, Brittany MacAdam and husband Zach, Christian Eveliegh and wife Hannah, Alisha Tuppen, and Skylar Gambrell. He was a proud great-grandfather to numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his brother, Tommy Belk and wife Virginia, his companion and caretaker, Brenda Hebert, and numerous other loving family members and friends.
