Paula "Roxane" Seholm

1954 ∼ 2021

Paula Roxane Seholm was born on January 15, 1954 in Beaumont, TX to Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Krudop
Childress, Sr. Roxane, as she was known her entire life, grew up in South Park, Beaumont, TX and
graduated from South Park High School as class Salutatorian in 1972. She was a member of the National
Junior Classical League and the Latin Club. Roxane attended Lamar University, where she first met her
future husband Ken in the summer of 1974, and received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in May
of 1976. She attended North Texas State University the following fall and after a short break during
which she and Ken got married on May 22, 1977 she received her Master of Science in Psychology in
May of 1980.

In 1980 Roxane began a lengthy and meaningful career as a Licensed Psychological Associate through
which she touched the lives of so many children and their families. Roxane’s life was committed to
helping and being there for others, not only through the thousands of children she worked with in her
career, but to her family and anyone else she met on her journey. She is our guiding light -- our North
Star; her presence in our lives will never be missed!

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth John Seholm: two children, David Paul Seholm and Elizabeth
“Libby” Suzanne Ellzey-Seholm; and her three grandchildren, Sarah Michelle Ellzey-Seholm, Barret Minjun
Seholm, and Emmeline Rose Ellzey-Seholm.

Wow, what a role model and friend to have. We shared patients but most of all the love of our work and most importantly the love of life. I will truly miss her. Thanks for the memories. I know you are dancing and loving the music.

ROXANE WAS A FIGHTER. SHE LOVED HER FAMILY, AND HELD ON FOR AS LONG AS SHE COULD. HER HUSBAND KEN WAS THE WATCH DOG, KEEPING HER SAFE AND HEALTHY. AFTER ABOUT 5 YEARS, RITA AND I WERE HOPING TO LEARN HOW SHE WAS ABLE TO HOLD ON FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. SO WE ASKED. SHE SAID IT WAS SIMPLE--SHE SIMPLY LISTENED TO EVERYTHING THE DOCTOR TOLD HER, AND SHE DID EXACTLY THAT. SHE LIVED FOR 2 MORE YEARS. SHE WAS AMAZING!!! BOB MEIER

She was such a beautiful human being! I trusted her with my life and she took care of me like no one else had. Two years every week. She went to school with my mother and father which we figured out long after our bond was made. She was so sweet with the biggest heart but she wouldn’t let me slide if she saw I was messing up. Hippie soul that I could talk to for hours. So smart! Funny! And honest! Words can not do justice on what she did and meant to my family and I. I’m so sorry for your loss and may God comfort every pain that comes your way in knowing that she’s dancing in Heaven and will always be with her family. Prayers to everyone!
