A Life Remembered
Obituary
Orvis Ray Holston, 89, of Orange, passed away on March 5, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, at United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Murray Ray. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, at United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City.
Born in Picayune, Mississippi, on October 7, 1931, he was the son of Carlie Orvis Holston and Hazel Annabell (Cameron) Holston. Orvis worked for Equitable Bag for 18 years and went on to own his own business Ray Holston Roofing for 30 years doing all of the work himself. He was the most dedicated worker and of course after retirement went to work alongside his son at ASI Piping where he was known as “Pop”. Orvis was a part of the Pentecostal Faith for 63 years and a faithful member of United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City for 39 years. He was a family man who never missed a moment to spend time with them. Orvis left an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlie and Hazel Holston; and sister, Iva Kidds.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Toupie Holston.; children, Robert Holston and wife Mona of Vidor, Randy Holston of Orange, Travis Holston of Franklinton, Louisiana, and Don Holston and wife Donna of Orangefield; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Bobbie Bebee, Larry Holston, and Darlene Vaughn; as well as numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Weeks, Jonathan Holston, John Manley, Michael Holston, James Glazer, and Koehl McDaniel.
