I briefly knew brother Smith in the late 70's in my high school years. I was later privileged to get to know him better while attending the Church of Christ. I liked to sit close to him during service and would tell him lets see who can sing the loudest. Even in his later years he was a good a' cappella singer. His mine was sharp and with some tact he would tell you how he saw things. He had a close walk with our Lord and I know I will see him again. I know on this side of the veil he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Mine and my family's prayers are with his family. See you on the other side brother Smith.

I’m so sorry to hear of Nate’s passing. As a child in Aransas Pass in the 50s, his dad was my elementary school principal, and our families became close friends through the Church of Christ there. He was a handsome, dashing teenager and I had a huge crush on him when I was a little girl. In an online search for my mother several years ago, Lesley found me and we have conversed for the last few years on FB. Sending my heartfelt sympathies to his family. RIP Nathan.
