Mildred Sonnier Hudson
Mildred Sonnier Hudson, 95, of Orange, passed away Monday, October 28, 2013, at her residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Tom Phelan officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Orange. Serving as Pallbearers will be Christopher Jeane, Colby Jeane, Dillan Sonnier, Larry Johnson, Reagan Sonnier and Terry Gautier.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Elton, Louisiana on July 31, 1918, Mildred was the daughter of Kenneth and Ada (Miller) Sonnier. She was an administrative supervisor at U.S. Naval Station for 20 years.

Mildred was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She was a volunteer office worker at St. Francis and a political contributor. Mildred was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Young at Heart and Women of St. Francis. She also was a loyal Dallas Cowboy fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob W. Hudson; and sisters, Mable Hart, Marjorie Bryan and Melba Fare.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Beverly Gunter of Orange; grandchildren, Michele Taylor Johnson and husband, Larry, Stephanie Taylor Sonnier-Jeane and husband, Christopher; great-grandchildren, Danielle Sonnier, Dillan Sonnier, Reagan Sonnier; and sister, Macy Edgerton.
