Michael Shane Preston, 62, of Bridge City, Texas passed away on October 10, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

Born in Wichita, Kansas, on August 6, 1955, he was the son of William Charles “Bill” Preston, Jr., and Billie Whorton Preston. Mike was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the United States Navy from 1975 until 1978. He was a supervisor for Rescar in Beaumont, Texas. He enjoyed fishing and was always joking. He had an easy going personality that made him liked by everyone he came in contact with. Even on his worst days he could find humor in everything. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Charles “Bill” Preston Jr., and Billie Whorton Preston.; as well as his brother Rick Preston.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Preston of Bridge City, Texas; his children, Shane Michael Preston and wife Lexi of Bridge City, Texas, Keeshia South and husband Dane of Orange, Texas; grandchildren, Haven South, and Harper and Addy Preston. He is also survived by his brother Chuck Preston and wife Linda of Weeki Wachee, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. and a memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Navy.
