Michael Wayne Johnson

Michael Wayne Johnson, 58, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on June 23, 2025.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas.

Officiating will be Reverend Mark Bunch with St. Paul Methodist Church in Bridge City. A private burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas.

Visitation time will be held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born on February 7, 1967, in Tucson, Arizona, Michael was the beloved son of Kennith and Linda Johnson. He was a father, a grandfather, a dog lover, and a true Texas football fan through and through.

Married to his Beloved Wife, Michelle, for 26 years, their history and the family they built together remain something important — and always will.

He is survived by his children, Keegan Johnson (wife, Megan), Halen Borg (wife, Jade), Braden Borg (wife, Klynn), and Annelise Borg (wife, Haley); and his treasured grandchildren, Sunny Johnson, Colton Borg, Gunner Borg, Eastynn Borg, and Braelynn Borg. He is also survived by his loyal dogs, Charlie and Walker, who rarely left his side.

Michael had a sharp sense of humor and a big heart. He enjoyed drinking Coke while watching football, especially the University of Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys, and never missed a chance to cheer on his teams with passion. Whether he was playing with his dogs or spending time with family, Michael always found joy in the little things.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, his love for his family, and the way he could make anyone laugh—even on the hardest days.

Serving as pallbearers will be Keegan Johnson, Braden Borg, Halen Borg, and Annelise Borg. Honorary pallbearer will be Kennith Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to South Texas Aussie Rescue at https://www.southtexasaussierescue.org/donate/

Michelle and family - I'm a STAR friend and had the opportunity on several occasions to chat with Michael on the phone to coordinate a foster dog, or transport or something. What I remember most is his humor and the unwavering desire to help get a dog to a great life. We had many laughs. May the joy of knowing him outshine the pain of losing him. Kindest Regards.

Mike and I were real good friends and school mates. We grew up being a part of Second Baptist kids, especially the grade school choir with Sally Robinson as our director. In high school, Mike was my drum major my sophomore year. Thank you Mike for my 2 years of band with you. Thank you Mike for being a good friend for many, many years. RIP Mike!! Kennith & Linda, my condolences to you both and to Mike's kids.
