Mellie Duce
Mellie Duce, 101, of Orange, passed away on March 1, 2015, at Orange Villa Nursing and Rehab in Orange.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Darwin Parrott. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. Ford Chapel Cemetery in Bon Wier, Texas.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

Born in Newton, Texas, on January 27, 1914, she was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Johnson and Margaret J. Warner Johnson. Mellie was strong in her Christian faith and loved spending time with family and friends. She has been an example for everyone in her family from her children to her great-great grandchildren throughout her 101 years.

She is preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Margaret Johnson; husband, Earl Duce; 1 granddaughter; 1 great grandson; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Parrott and husband, Leonard of Pasadena, Texas and Lynn Hattermann and husband, Paul of Katy, Texas; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many friends, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Trenton Williams, Jason Hattermann, Austin Brunson, Barry Brunson, David Johnson, Keith Hattermann and Chase Hattermann.
