Mary “Mimi” Henry, 86, of Orange, Texas, passed away on May 5, 2015, in Beaumont.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Harvest Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Sister Ruth Burch. Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.
Born in Old Gulf, Texas, on September 17, 1928, Mimi was the daughter of Herbert Brown Patterson and Ruby Mae Grimes. She loved to cook and sew. Mimi was a very spiritual woman who loved Jesus and was an active member of Harvest Chapel for over 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert E. Henry; her daughter, Beth Freeman; and her grandson Brian Quinn.
Mimi is survived by her children, Sharon Hargis, Dale Alexander and wife Wanda, and Gary Adams and wife, Beverly; her grandchildren, Lisa, Sharon, Regina, Cheryl, Dawn, Jessica, Carrie, Kristi, and Kellan; 23 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Aunt Mimi was one-of-a-kind...there is no other like her. Every time I talked to her, she would tell me how old she was and something she was grateful for: "I'm 85 years old and I thank the good Lord I can walk!" One of my favorite memories of her is when she was visiting my Mimi (Rachel Sellers) in Blessing. They were sitting on the porch watching the birds and squirrels. My Mimi started going on about the squirrels when Aunt Mary stood up and said, "Sista, I don't know why you like them so much, they're just glorified rats!" We laughed and laughed, and to this day I can hear her say that every time I see a squirrel. I'll always remember how she praised the Lord at any opportunity; it was always genuine. Our love and thoughts go to her family, friends, and to all those that loved her.
