Marvin Joseph Janise

Marvin Joseph Janise, 66, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on September 16, 2019, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Vidor, Texas, on August 7, 1953, he was the son of Marvin James Janise, Jr. and Edith Mayrene Carter Janise. Marvin graduated from Vidor High School and went on to work as a Respiratory Therapist for Baptist Hospital. He enjoyed anything that had to do with Native American heritage and loved the mountains. Marvin always had a great time getting to spend time with his numerous friends from grade school. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. Marvin will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Edith Janise; his wife, Jimmie Faye Janise; and his brother, Marcus Janise.

Marvin is survived by his lifelong friend, Sandra Janise; children, Brandon Janise, of Vidor, Spencer Day and husband Alan, of Mauriceville, Kaleb Janise, of Mauriceville, and Devin Janise, of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Emalee Janise, Damon Janise, Gracie Day, Aadi Day, and Trevor Janise; and his siblings, Charlotte Kirkland and Malcolm Janise.

Cremation is under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Marvin’s family would like to extend a special thank you to his friends Rodney Stout and Dennis Jarrell for being there for him throughout the years.

The family would like to also extend a heartfelt thank you to Sandra Janise for all of the love and care she provided their dad when it was needed most.

It has been many years since I have seen Marvin , but he was always smiling. Such a great guy. When he worked in the hospital, he came by to give me my treatments and always had a smile on his face. I knew the Janise family and was saddened to read about this. My sympathy to him and his family. Rita Wheat Trahan
