Martha Cockerham
Martha Cockerham, 99, of Orange, passed away on February 10, 2021.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Tullos, Louisiana, on January 6, 1922, she was the daughter of Huey and Orene Baldridge. Martha worked as a nurse for Dr. George Eastman for over 35 years. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Orange for 70 years. She will be deeply missed by all those who came to know and love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Huey and Orene Baldridge; loving husband Everette E.P. “Snooks” Cockerham; daughter, Arminda Cockerham Bridges; son, William Huey Cockerham; and grandson, Kenneth Allen Dorman.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Cockerham; grandchild, Rhonda Dorman Lindley and husband Luther; great-grandchildren, Dustin Ivy and wife Demi, Brittany Cauthen and husband Allen, Dylan Dorman and wife Laura, Skyla Parker; and great-great-grandchildren, Caden Dorman, Allison Dorman, Waylon Dorman and Amelie Cauthen.

I practiced medicine with Dr Eastman and Dr Jones 1971-72. When Martha could not be seen she was heard. She was not a shrinking violet. She was a dynamo of activity, moving quickly and calling people 'honey child' along the way. Never one to dawdle around it took even death 99 years to catch up with her. Charles Crim MD
