Marjorie Ann Stephens

Margie Ann Stephens of Bridge City, Texas passed away on November 1, 2026, in Beaumont, Texas after a brief illness. She was born on July 24, 1964, in Dallas, Texas to Dan and Marie Redding.

She grew up in Winchester, Kentucky and graduated from North Bullitt High School. In 1980, they returned to Texas. A year later, she gave birth to her daughter, Stephanie Louise Goff in 1981. Margie and Stephanie shared such a cherished bond until her passing. She never missed any of Stephanie’s games in the sports she played growing up and all through school. Margie was always her biggest cheerleader in sports, love, and life. And yes, everyone could hear Margie in the crowd!

In 1985, she met the love of her life, Harry Stephens. They married on January 10, 1992. From that moment on, they were inseparable. They worked daily together operating Harry’s Appliance Inc. in downtown Orange more than forty years side by side.

Margie was always the life of the party. She made it known to everyone when she walked through the door that she had arrived. And she always arrived in fashion. She always had a smile on her face that would light up any room she was walked into. Margie was bold, loud, strong, and never backed down. She had a fire inside like no other. From yelling at the umpires at the ballpark to cheering on every kid on both teams.

Margie loved watching her grandchildren through all of their many sports they played. She cherished their Thursday’s night of Dairy Queen and Taco Bell and the Sundays when she cooked for everyone. She cherished her great grandson, Brooks, and loved spoiling him every minute possible.

After Harry passed away, Margie found love in life again with Clyde Sneed. They showed each other that love could be found again in the darkest of times. They both found light again where it once was dark.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her late husband, Harry Stephens.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Duval (Lucas); her granddaughter, Jaycelyn Duval (Lane Ponfick); her grandson, Keegan Duval; her great-grandson, Brooks Ponfick; and her fiancé, Clyde Sneed. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Malish (Carl), Ruby Navarre (Danny), and Donie Pearson (Dale); and her brothers, Charlie Redding (Donna) and Leonard Redding. She also leaves behind a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Jonathan Green. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will begin prior to the service at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lucas Duval, Keegan Duval, Lane Ponfick, Charlie Redding, Dale Pearson, and Michael Ragusa. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Ward and Leto Valencia.

Margie may not be here with us, but she will always be a part of us. Her light will continue to shine like a beacon in the darkness of nighttime.
