Marie Howell, 93, of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away on October 10, 2019, at her home in Sulphur.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, Texas.

Born in Oakdale, Louisiana, on January 26, 1926, she was the daughter of Ernest C. Rowan and Lily Bea Eastwood. Marie was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Orangefield while she was able to attend. She enjoyed spending time gardening and loved her family dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Howell; parents, Ernest and Lily Eastwood; daughters, Debbie Howell and Lydia Wilson; son, Tommy Howell; and her brothers, Roy Rowan and Ernest C. Rowan.

She is survived by her daughter, Gwen Hopkins, of Sulphur; grandchildren, Andrew Hopkins and wife Rhonda, James Hopkins and wife Virginia, and Jentzie Wilson; great-grandchildren, Teagan Hopkins, James Thomas Hopkins, Angel Hopkins, and Holli Lanthier; and her nieces and nephews, Sherry Wheeler, Terry Rowan, and Jeffery Rowan.
