Obituary
Margaret Broussard Conway, 81, of Hemphill and formerly of Orange passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Hemphill Care Center.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Parrish Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 19th from 7:00-9:00 pm at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange
Born in Sulphur, Louisiana, on October 5, 1932, she was the daughter of Alton J. Broussard, Sr. and Eleanor Durion Broussard. She was employed at Equitable Bag Co. for 40 years and OCARC for 7 years, was a member of the Eastern Star, the Business and Professional Woman’s Club, and North Orange Baptist Church. Margaret was a Lutcher Stark graduate where she was a member of the Bengal Guard in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Vivian Dorman, A.J. Broussard, Louis Dugas, Jr, and Donnie Broussard.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Preston Conway and daughters and their spouses, Connie Conway Daniels and Robert Daniels of Hemphill, Claudia C. Watson and David Watson of Elk Grove, California and Jenifer and James Landry of Lumberton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and her brother, Richard Broussard of Buna.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Houston and Southeast Texas: 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030-2008.
