Marco Kordie, 81, of Orange, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Dr. Bob Webb from Trinity Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, with Masonic Rites performed by Madison Lodge 126 AF&AM. Serving as pallbearers will be members of Madison Lodge 126 AF&AM.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Chunchula, Alabama, on April 10, 1932, Marco is the son of Peter M. Kordie and Pearlie Irene (Boothe) Kordie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He was the Kentucky Fried Chicken franchisee in the Golden Triangle area. He was a member of Madison Lodge 126 AF&AM, and El Mina Shrine, where he served as Potentate in 2003.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Pearlie Kordie.
Marco is survived by his wife Bobbie Kordie of Orange; sons, Mark and his wife Susan Kordie of Orange, Brian and his wife Rima Kordie of Katy; daughter, Karen Kordie of Houston; grandchildren, Jason Kordie, Jarred and his wife Kendra Kordie, Jeremy Kordie, Josh and his wife Kandis Kordie, Aaron Livingston, Kristen Kordie, and Sara Kordie; and eleven great-granchildren.
For those who wish, memorials may be directed to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
