Bert Allen Henry, Sr., 60, of Silsbee, passed away on September 19, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
Following the service, military honors will be provided by the United States Navy at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on October 19, 1954, Bert was the son of John William Henry, Jr. and Mildred Marie (LeMaire) Henry. He was a member of the Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ in Johnson City, Tennessee. Bert loved gardening, cooking for his family, and sharing his faith. He served for twenty years in the United States Navy. Bert will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred M. Henry and sister, JoAnna Leggett.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Henry; children, Bert A. Henry, II and wife, Crystal of Salado, Texas, John W. Henry, III and wife, Kelli of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Phillip L. Henry and wife, Brandy of Jarrell, Texas, Miriam Dixon and husband Aaron of Azle, Texas, and Amanda N. Valdez and husband, Anthony of Liberty Hill, Texas; father, John W. Henry, Jr.; sisters, Opal L. Stifflemire, Edwina M. Mattarocci, and Mary E. Bourge; brothers, William P. Henry and John S. Henry; 18 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip L. Henry, Bert A. Henry II, John W. Henry III, William Patrick Henry, John S. Henry, Aaron Dixon, and Anthony Valdez. Honorary pallbearers are James Henry, Elijah Henry, Austin Henry and Noah Henry.

The World is a better place for having my Daddy in it. He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother and Friend. He loved The Lord and spent his entire life sharing God's Word with anyone that would listen! Although my heart hurts and I miss him beyond words, I find comfort in knowing that he will live for Eternity in the Paradise that he has looked forward to for so many years. He has finally gotten the much deserved opportunity to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and has been reunited with the loved ones that have gone before him! I am fortunate enough that I get to see my Dad every time I look in the mirror, and will be reminded of him everytime someone speaks my name, because he gave me his!
