Lugene D. Peais, 64, of Orange, Texas, went to be with the Lord on September 7, 2019, at Pinehurst Nursing Home in Orange.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Lugene was born on July 22, 1955 in Newton, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Lewis Weldon and Mildred (Miskinis) Weldon. Lugene put in many years of work with the Mauriceville Volunteer Fire Department where she assisted with fire calls and dispatch. She was known to many as “Mamma Bulldog.” She enjoyed spending time with her family at the lake every summer. Lugene was a member for St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mildred Weldon; and her first husband, Bob Allen.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 28 years, Steven L. Peais; her daughter, Elizabeth Cole and husband Darren of Orange; her two step children which she loved like her own, Steven D. Peais and wife Penny of Orange and Dean Peais of Nevada; her two very loving grandchildren, Victoria Cole and Steven L. Peais, III; and many friends.
