“Mama Dear”
The Celebration of Life for Mother Levell Minor Manuel, 94, of Orange, Texas, will be Thursday, January 24, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Rites of Christian Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Park, 12563 West Port Arthur Road, Beaumont under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mother Manuel passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at her home. A native of Ferriday, LA., she resided in Orange for 65 years. She was a member of The Grace Temple Church of God in Christ. She was the Mother of the Church and a faithful & supportive member.
She is survived by two sons, Tommy Manuel (Tangela) of Houston and Clifton Manuel of Amarillo; four daughters, Vera Barnes of Ferriday, LA, Shelly Hollins (Johnny) of Baton Rouge, LA, Estell Williams and Doris Gentry (Willis) all of Orange; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

My grandmother was a lady of Elegance. We shared a lifetime of memories from church life, bible reading, cooking and baking together to enjoying the outdoors. She shared a huge part of her life with me. When I became an adult I wanted to make sure to give her what she had given to me and that is LOVE unconditional. She is and will forever be missed by me!
