Family Chain We little knew that morning God was going to call your name, In life we loved you dearly In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you You did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories Your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you You are always by our side. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one The Chain will link again. - Author Unknown- Les was truly an amazing man and I always felt so proud and blessed to have him as my brother! He was simply the best! He will always be remembered as a man of great integrity, kind spirit, and a loving heart and I will always be grateful for the joy he brought to my life and so many others. He's now at peace. Sammye

My thoughts and prayers are with Les and his family. I'm so sorry to learn of Les' passing. We had a lot of good times together in Pecos and he was one of best friends during those days. Unfortunately we lost contact over the years but I always kept up with Les accomplishments through my sisters who worked with Les at FCI. My condolences to Les' family, I know he will be missed greatly. May God bless you Les and your family. Jerry Byrne, Texas Ranger Captain (ret)

While I only met Les on a couple of occasions you could tell he was truly a good person, caring husband, father and grandfather. My heart breaks knowing that his family does not understand why he was taken at such a young age. Know that while I am physically out of the country and could not be there to support you in your time of loss please know that my prayers are with you daily. See you in September Cheryl Barenber

Lori, I am so sorry. I just heard this morning about Les and I am in complete shock. Les was a mentor to me and was always so calm "in the storm." He and I enjoyed a few hunts in east Texas, and was always so much fun to be around. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our hearts and prayers goes out to Lori and the rest of the family. Les worked with both Tony and I, as members of the Exec. Staff at FCC Beaumont. We had some great times together. I am still in a state of shock! What many of you probably don't know is he was a big prankster when we most need him to be. When things appeared too tensed Les would do something to make us all laugh. We love you Lori! Tony & Sheria Boyd

He never meant for us to die. He wants to reunite your family and live the way he wanted us to live without sin and sickness. I can remember when we all hunkered down at Les and Lori's house for hurricane Ike. Les had to stay at the prison, We couldn't get the generator to work, so he came home to try to help us get it to work, and we still couldn't get to work so... we filled up all the bath tubes with water and what ever else we find that would hold water before the storm hit. It was scary time but one of the best memories I have. Les was a good man and you are missed.
