Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on January 5, 1930, he was the son of Philip Franklin Huckabay and Vicie Howell Huckabay. Lawrence lived a life characterized by resilience, ingenuity, and a profound commitment to his family and faith. For almost 40 years, Lawrence worked as an Instrument Technician for Dupont, where he demonstrated his exceptional skill and dedication. His knack for repairing and maintaining equipment was no surprise to those who knew him, as he had a talent for fixing just about anything, especially if he had some JB Weld! This ability extended beyond his professional life; Lawrence once found himself with a broken television and, frustrated with the manufacturer's lack of support, decided to take matters into his own hands. He enrolled in classes to learn how to repair it himself, eventually leading him to establish a successful radio and TV repair shop. After his retirement, Lawrence continued to embrace life with enthusiasm, often seen casting his line into nearby waters in pursuit of his favorite pastime, fishing. He was also a devoted member of St. Henry Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. His spirit of productivity and eagerness to stay busy was a hallmark of his character, making him an inspiration to friends and family alike. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Vicie Huckabay; his sons, Bruce Huckabay and Brent Huckabay; and his siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Geraldine Huckabay; his children, Lawrence Earl “Larry” Huckabay, Jr., Leslie Keith Huckabay, Sharon Ann Verrett and husband, Leo, Brian Huckabay and wife, Mary Ann, and Mary Louise Stonecipher and husband, Rick; his grandchildren, Melanie, Brad, Daniel, April, Keith, Travis, Jared, Logan, Erin, Corey, Cade, Jordan, and Derick; his great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Caroline, Skyline, Atom, Sawyer, Addie, Levi, Savvy, Steele, Scout, Julian, and Landry; and numerous other loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons.
