Obituary
May 1, 2015 Lana C. Fontenot, a proud member of the Army Texas Rangers and veteran of World War II, ended nearly 91 years of love, devotion and commitment to his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Reverend Tom Phelan will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and last throughout the night at Claybar Funeral Home. A wake will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lana was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Essie M. Johnson Fontenot, his parents Adam and Arise Fontenot, his sister Rose Campbell, his brother, Bernard T. Fontenot and his great-granddaughter Brendi Molin. Lana is survived by his son Tommy Lee Fontenot and wife, Rose; daughter Gloria Jean Rolen and husband, Tom; daughter Becky Ann Molin, and husband Steve; brother, Fred Fontenot and wife Lois; sister Sally Stout and husband, Willis and 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Rolen, Chad Molin, Bryan Molin, Terry Trahan, Nathan Rolen and Lee Fontenot.

I have many memories of my pawpaw. The best ones are seeing him when he was with mawmaw they were so in love and always dancing to their favorite cajun music.. I know they are up in heaven dancing away.. I love you pawpaw you and mawmaw keep dancing away until we join you guys one day. Love your granddaughter. Farrah Fontenot Boutte

Lanny was my dad's nephew. For as long as I can remember, Lanny always had a cigar in the corner of his mouth. It was never lit, but it was a part of who he was. Dad and Lanny would always play their accordions when they got together. I know they are having a jam sessions in heaven! I know he is at peace now. Thanks for all the memories that I hold dear to my heart. Love you, Lanny. Mary Jo Fontenot
