Kevin Dean Odom, 42, of Orange, passed away on November 17, 2015, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November, 21, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Lee Wagliardo of Journey Community Church in Lumberton. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orange.
Born in Orange, Texas, on August 1, 1973, Kevin loved rebuilding and racing cars, especially Mustangs. He worked as an auto mechanic for Superior Tire in Nederland. Kevin was a loving son, brother, companion, and step father.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Joyce Thistrup and Corbit Odom; aunt and uncle, Rita and Jeep Cartwright.
He is survived by his mother and step father, Sherry and Will Parish of Orange; father and step mother, Jay and Mary Odom of Brookeland; longtime companion, Laurie Saunders of Bridge City; step children, Shelby Ash, Justin Ash, and Tyler Ash; sister, Julie Cammack and husband, Terry of Bridge City; niece, Alyssa Strickland; nephew, Lance Cammack; grandparents, Dorothy Akers and Margie Schultz of Orangefield; aunt and godmother Diane Speece and husband Mike; uncles and aunts, Mickey and Ethel Odom, Danny and Vicki Odom, Craig and Mary Ann Odom; step sisters, Alyson Parish and Haley Parish; step brother, Nathan Parish and wife Lindsey; and numerous loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Louis “Bubba” Long, Jeremy Gothia, Trevor Latiolais, Jason Vice, Justin Ash, and Tyler Ash. Honorary pallbearer are Charles Saunders.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff on the Oncology, fourth floor at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

To all who ever had the opportunity to know Kevin are lucky and of course blessed. Kevin is my nephew and I'm so thankful I was able to visit with him last week. We had a lot of good conversations and I will always treasure my visit with him. I prayed with him and was happy to know he was at peace with himself and he was at peace with God. I thank our loving God for giving Kevin to us as a gift to know him and love him. A very strong man with personal courage and so many wonderful attributes. I celebrate the life of Kevin, knowing he has been chosen to go home before us. He has no more pain and suffering. As hard as it is for those of us who are still here on this earth. There are so many but on a Friday evening around 7:30 , I woke up from a nap after work and thought it was Saturday morning! I jumped up, still in uniform and panicked! I ran to my car, picked up my phone and called Kevin! I said hey Kevin at you at work yet? Mike is going to kill me, I over slept! He calmly said Mrs. BETTIE IT'S STILL FRIDAY EVENING! WE LAUGHED FOR DAYS!!! This was around a month after my husband,Joe Grogan, had passed!!! I love this family! Praying for you all!
