Kerry Stephen Caillouet

1965 ∼ 2026

Kerry Stephen Caillouet

Kerry Stephen Caillouet, age 61, was born on January 10, 1965, and passed away on March 4, 2026—made whole and forever healed. Thank you, God!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Officiating will be Father Ernie Carpio. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00p.m., Friday, March 6, 2026. Following the Rosary, guests are invited to share their favorite memories of Kerry.

Kerry was the beloved husband of Deborah Caillouet and the proud father to his four daughters: Cassie Bearden, Amy Garza, Leslie Romero, and Carlie Duplechin, and was blessed to have two bonus children, Macie Jackson and her husband Coty, and Austin Bergeron and his wife Kaylee.

His sons-in-law who were always there to be his helpers were Austin Romero, Jimsharon Bearden, Kody Duplechin, and BG Garza.

He was the best Paw to Silas, Luke, Henry, Lucy, Haven, Bodie, Liv, Lia, Krewe, Grady, Hollyn, Hallie, and our “bigs”, JS, Hutch, and Hallie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Don and Georgie Mae Caillouet, and his late wife, his soulmate, Myra Caillouet.

He is also survived by his siblings Ricky Caillouet, Cathy Guyote, Sandy Staton, Chris Caillouet, Brenda Caillouet, Robin Barrett, Colleen Owens, and Kelly Caillouet.

Kerry began his maritime career in 1987 working aboard tugboats on the Neches River. Through dedication and hard work, he worked his way up to tug captain before becoming a Sabine Pilot at just 38 years old, a role he faithfully served in for more than twenty years. He took great pride in doing his job right, and sacrificed much sleep and time with family during his working weeks.

Outside of work, Kerry loved the outdoors. Whether hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, or cooking for a crowd, he was happiest surrounded by family and friends. He loved spending time at the lake and hosting so many get-togethers while working the speaker that always led to dancing on the concrete.

If there was a leaf out of place, Kerry had probably already taken care of it—no one used a leaf blower more, and his driveway was easily the cleanest in town.

Kerry was known for giving wisdom, directions, and the correction when needed—and those who loved him wouldn’t have had it any other way. His “no-good sons-in-law,” whom he loved to tease, especially knew this well. His humor, guidance, and steady presence shaped the lives of those around him.

Above all, Kerry was the best Paw. He loved taking his grandchildren on nighttime walks through the woods with nothing but the moonlight to guide them, teaching them to be tough while filling those moments with laughter and stories they will never forget.

Kerry enriched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a man of great humor and great honor, someone whose love for his family was unwavering. There will never be another Kerry.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace, healed, and at home with God — His eternal adventure.

We love you forever.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Legion of Mary of St. Henry’s.

To my Kerry my fellow pilot “The Foot”. I will miss our two pilot trips up the river. Your no nonsense way of telling me or anyone else what you think, a straight shooter. Our exotic meals on foreign ships where more often than not we raved about the food. Followed by you taking charge of cleaning the plates and almost doing the dishes for the cook. Lights dimmed, radios properly tuned, and your “picture” looking right, that’s how a nighttime transit up the Neches went with you. I will cherish those transits whether it be a clear blue bird day or blowing a gale at midnight offshore, I always knew what to expect when boarding up with you. To Kerry my friend and fellow outdoorseman. I will always remember the constant discussion about hunting seasons past and present. The upcoming white bass run. The whitetail rut. A hunting trip with Vicki where i shot playing squirrels. Crappie trips on the lake. You making me sleep in your closet. Or that time you cooked James and I a mixture of everything in the fridge which kept us regular for days. I will miss you man. You were always the friend I turned to for local outdoor knowledge. From bass in the bayous, pigs in the woods, the evening duck hunt we never got around to, the Sheffield lease, I will cherish our talks about past trips and trips to come. Rest easy Captain, and I wish you an eternity of fair winds and following seas.

Kerry, was always a friend to anyone he met. There has always been an inner strength and integrity and fierce loyalty to those who he loved. He always had a kind word and forgiving heart. We know he is in the presence of our Lord God and having a big party that includes generations of Caillouet’s. Our prayers are for his family left to grieve his absence but knowing he is just a wink away.
