Kay Marie Thierheimer, age 52, of Cypress, Texas passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston Texas.
Kay was born on December 16, 1967 in Orange, Texas, to the late Terrance “Terry” and Frances Thierheimer. Kay was a 1986 graduate from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School. She attended Texas A&M in College Station. While always an Aggie at heart, she was on track to earn her Associates of Arts from Lone Star College. She was part of The Honors College at Lone Star College, and an inducted member of Phi Theta Kappa. Her ultimate academic dream was to earn a master’s in theology and to serve as a spiritual mentor and teacher.
Kay worked at Lone Star College CyFair for 9 years as a Staff Assistant, and the past 2 years as an Administration Assistant. She was part of the Professional Staff Association at Lone Star College.
Kay truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with family and friends, snacking, and enjoying her diet Dr. Pepper. Kay was musical talented; her favorite instruments were the dulcimer and harp. Kay enjoyed cross stitching and donated much of her work to support on campus theatre performances at LSC CyFair. While not studying or working, Kay was learning Spanish, planning trips, cruising, and planning her next tattoo. Kay enjoyed the time she spent with the Renaissance recreation group and camping at the Renaissance festival for many years.
Kay loved being a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tomball Texas. While there she loved being part of the Jesus Calling book club, Catholic Daughters, Catholics Coming Home, and most recently the RCIA program.
Kay had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Her smile was contagious, she was a great sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was an excellent example of humility, grace, charity, and loveliness.
Preceded in death by her parents Terrance “Terry” and Frances Thierheimer.
She is survived by her brother, Chris Thierheimer and wife Bonnie of Bridge City, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family, friends, and others whose life Kay touched are invited to St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Orange, Texas, 4320 Meeks Dr, Orange TX 77632, from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
In lieu of flowers a donation in Kay’s name may be offered to Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

Kay's beautiful stitch work was so amazing. She loved her family and missed her parents so much. I was fortunate to have met them and hear all three of them play together. Kay loved Blue Frogs. We were each other's "Secret Santa" one year at HP and I gave her a wall clock with a photo of a Blue Frog on the face. She gave me my "Purple Warm Snuggly" that I use every day. I know she will be truly missed, but I also know how gloriously happy she is to be reunited with her Mama & Daddy in Heaven. She knew my Mama too, so I hope they are cooking up a storm together for all those waiting for us to come home. See you again my Phi Theta Kappa Sister - one day. Angela Warton

"Eternal grant unto Kay Marie, Oh Lord, and let perpetua light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen. I am so heartbroken to learn of Kay's demise only today. "Oh dearest, Kay, I feel awful that we were not able to reconnect when you moved, and after I retired. So sorry that our plan to have a musical concert did not materialize. I know and believe that you are no watching over us from heaven."! To Chris and the family of Kay, my deepest condolences. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Lourella Cruz, LSC-CyFair.

I am in shock by Kay's passing. We grew up one street over from each other and were close friends throughout school. I remember catching the school bus together and walking home down the trail along the canal. We had many sleepovers and enjoyed playing board games. Kay was a bridesmaid in my wedding. Although we hadn't seen one another in years, I still consider her one of my oldest friends. My condolences to you and your family, Chris. May you rest in peace, Kay.

I was very fortunate to have been introduced to Kay by our Pastor. Kay joined the ministry of Catholic’s Retuning Home with me and she was such a valuable contributor to the class that she helped teach. We soon became fast friends working together on other ministries. I will truly miss Kay and her insight to our Catholic Faith. I know Kay is enjoying being with our Lord and celebrating Mass everyday.

I was privileged to be a minister of care to both Kay and Frances for many months. After Sunday Mass I would drive to their apartment and then later to their home to take holy communion to them. I always enjoyed seeing and hearing about the beautiful crafts and sewing projects they both were involved with. They were both talented ladies with a heart of gold. My deepest sympathy to you, Chris and the rest of your family members. Diane O’Donnell St. Anne in Tomball
