June Elizabeth Guidry, 87, of Groves passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Forever Young Home in Groves.

June was born on May 28, 1933 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Mae Judice and Sidney Fusilier. She graduated from Bishop Byrne High School and received Secretarial Associate Degree from Port Arthur College. June was strong in her faith and was a member of Immaculate Conception-St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She enjoyed making quilts, crocheting and painting craft projects. June was a loving person who will be dearly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Mae Fusilier, her son in law, Kevin Viator and her daughter in law, Tena Guidry.

June is survived by her husband of 68 years, Wallace P. Guidry of Groves, her sons, Brent Guidry of Port Neches, Kurt Guidry and his wife, Becky of Nederland, her daughters, Detra Viator of San Antonio, Kim Mericle and her husband, Marty of Magnolia. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, seven and two on way great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. A 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Immaculate Conception-St. Peter Catholic Church in Groves. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis we are currently in, all visitors to the funeral home are required to wear facemask or coverings and practice social distancing.
