Jerry Lee Cagle

Jerry Lee Cagle, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026. He was born on December 14, 1953, in Orange, Texas.

Jerry was a true Renaissance man, known for his diverse talents and passions. He was a pilot, a skilled craftsman, and enjoyed dabbling in electronics. An avid tinkerer and builder, he found great joy in constructing and refinishing boats, and his love for being on the water and water sports was evident to all who knew him. He also cherished his tractors and his faithful dog, Rufus.

A long-standing member and deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont, Jerry’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, with Jesus at the forefront of his daily walk. He was a dedicated coach and a scout master, always eager to guide and inspire. Jerry was a profound mentor to his sons, paving the way for them to become wonderful fathers themselves, and he was an inspiration to his entire family.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Loretta Cagle; his sons, Wyatt Cagle and wife April, and Adam Cagle and wife Aleah. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Leo Cagle, Hudson Cagle, and Seiler (Si) Cagle. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn Gonzalez and husband Mike; and many other loving family and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Cagle and Mabel (Wade) Cagle; his brother, Billy Wayne Cagle; his sister, Carolyn Frances Willis; nephew, Scott Willis; and his granddaughter, Parker Jane Cagle.

Jerry’s legacy of faith, craftsmanship, and unwavering love for his family and community will forever be remembered.

So sorry for your loss. Jerry was always kind to me in Boy Scouts and had the patience of a saint dealing with some of us on campouts. He will always leave a special place in our hearts.

He was always one to have a witty, quiet comment that was always made me laugh. I will always remember his long love of Loretta. I knew them both for many years. I will never forget his sunshine face! One of the most pleasant, righteous men I ever knew.

Jerry was my best friend in high school. We were inseparable through high school and college. I believe God put us together to provide the strength we needed during those tough years. I am so thankful that God allowed a renewed friendship over these past few years. You will be truly missed my brother. I am a little jealous that you are already in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

My condolences to his family and friends. We worked together for years and became very good friends. I was going to call last week but didn’t. Now I wish I had. I will surely miss him.

My condolences to the Cagle family. Mr. Cagle was a fixture in our boy scout troop in Bridge City. He was always so patient with me and the other boys. I vividly remember his fantastic canoeing instruction at Village Creek and how fun our trips back then were. Sending lots of love and prayers.
