Jerry was known for his quick wit and always being funny, a trait that endeared him to all who knew him. He was a talented musician who loved playing the guitar, often sharing his gift with others. A devoted member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church, his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was baptized in Jesus name, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at Eastgate UPC. The night before he went to the hospital; he wanted to pray; so, he and his wife prayed with Kathy and Ronnie. While he was praying, he was saying, “Oh, I feel Jesus.” We feel like Jesus was welcoming him home. Jerry was a man who planned everything, ensuring his family was always cared for, truly living up to his role as a great provider. His caring nature touched everyone around him, leaving a lasting impact.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Theresa Barbo, and his cherished daughter, Brianna Barbo, who will carry his memory in their hearts. Jerry is also survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Deborah and Elmer Wilson.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Dale Barbo, his grandparents, Glenda Edgerton and Coy Elliott Jr., his uncle, Coy Elliott III, and his aunt, Brenda Chandler, all of whom he now joins in eternal rest.
