Jean Anne Marshall, 89, of Orange, passed away on September 9, 2017, in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Randy Branch of Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, September 11, 2017, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Okolona, Arkansas, on December 27, 1927, she was the daughter of Arch McGill and Florie (Peters) McGill. Jean was an amazing woman who inspired many people. She was a retired stenographer for DuPont and was a part of the DuPont Retirees Association. She was a volunteer for Southeast Texas Hospice and Orange Christian Services. Jean was also a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She played a big part in their annual Christmas Bazaar. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, and making floral arrangements for local nursing homes. She was loved my many and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Clifford Marshall and Arthur Lee Parrish; and brother, Robert L. McGill.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah J. Peddy of Orange, TX; grandchildren, William B. Peddy, Jr., and Robin Shaffer, both of Vidor, TX; great-grandchildren, J. Trevor Schaffer of North Carolina, and Lindsey Schaffer of Austin, TX; and brother, John A. McGill of New Braunfels.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Betty S. Cooper and Anne E. Foster, who she loved like family, for their amazing and loving care and service. They would also like to thank the staff at Orange Villa for their care and support.
