Obituary
James “Jimmy” Thompson, 70, of Starks, Louisiana, passed away on April, 17, 2015, at Baptist Hospital in Orange.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Mr. Larry W. Teeter. Burial of his cremated remains will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on December 2, 1944, he was the son of James Lester Thompson and Mary Frances Quinn Thompson. Jimmy retired from Citgo in Lake Charles and was a U.S. Army veteran. His hobbies included antique cars, drag racing, antiques, hunting, collecting guns and his dog “Floppy”. He and his wife enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their home. Jimmy was a loving husband, father and friend and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Thompson; his wife, Christine Evon Thompson and his sister, Mary Margaret Thompson.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Thompson of Starks, Louisiana; brother, David L. Thompson of Orange; sister, Judith Ann Novak of Orange and several nieces and nephews.

Very sweet man! I enjoyed praying the Rosary with him every Wednesday at the Meadows! He was always waiting by the door for us to arrive! May God rest his soul and may God comfort his family and give them peace!

Spent a lot of great times with Jimmy, around Starks, driving to and from work, Fire School and at work and always enjoyed his company. We shared a lot of times poking fun at one another, lots of laughs. May Godthe family in these times.

I spent many a day with Jimmy at CITGO. We worked together, along with Jerry Phillips, on the VERT activites and training. He will be missed but will be a joy to those he meets in heaven. Prayers to the family for their loss... Judy Spears
