James Richard Keith, Sr., 65, of Bon Secour, Alabama, recently of Aransas Pass, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2019, in Orange, Texas.
Born in Bon Secour, Alabama, on January 31, 1954, he was the son of Raymond Barto Keith and Dorothy Joyce Mason. Ricky spent most of his life on the water. He took pleasure in his work as a captain on a shrimp boat and tugboat for William Brothers for many years. Ricky also enjoyed fishing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Keith; and his brother, Jerry Keith.
He is survived by longtime loving companion, Rhonda Harper; son, James Keith, Jr. and wife Erin of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and his children Lucas, James III, and Hannah; son, Jason Keith and wife Donna of Sitka, Alaska, and his children, Jaden, Jason, Jene, Jerick, and Jaxon; daughter, Ellen Folsom and husband Pete of Cottondale, Florida and her children, Anthony, Forrest, and Georgia; daughter, Jessica Lopez and husband Raymond of Port Lavaca, Texas and her child, Emma; siblings, Raymond Keith and wife Paula of Wrangell, Alaska, and Betty Tikkanen and husband Paul of Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada; sister-in-law, Karen Keith of Elberta, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews; and Rhonda Harper’s children and grandchildren.
Cremation will be under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

He was a joy to see every morning.... 4:30 a.m. he'd make his way to the coffee station then go outside for a smoke before getting ready for his work day.
I had the opportunity to know him since I started working at Comfort Inn...
To any family members I was the person who found him and if there's anybody that's willing to reach out it would be greatly appreciated
