James “Buddy” Arthur Heard II, age 35, passed away at his home in Mauriceville, Texas on Friday, March 18, 2022.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Orange with Rev. Josh Fults and Rev. Barry Bradley officiating. The family will be receiving visitation beginning at 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the memorial service. Claybar Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

James was born in Orange, Texas on March 24, 1986, to James Austin and Florence Heard. He attended Little-Cypress Mauriceville High School and briefly worked for Tubal-Cain and Mobile Services. His passion was reading, where he was contracted to translate Japanese books into English. He also enjoyed working on computers, small engine repairs, and working on the sawmill when he was able.

Survivors include his mother, Florence Heard of Mauriceville, TX; brother John Bailey Heard and his wife Lynda of Mauriceville, TX; sister Irene Marie Nichols, nieces Allison, Lyndsey, and Kristin Nichols of Houston, TX; brother James Azariah Heard and his wife Virginia of Lake Forest, CA, niece Gillian and nephew Joshua Heard; sister Lydia Heard of Seattle WA, and nephew Chris Heard. He is preceded in dead by his father, James Austin Heard.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations be made in Buddy's name to the First Baptist Church of Orange.
