Obituary
James Ward Gammill, 70, of Bridge City, passed away on June 5, 2021, in Port Arthur.
A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 10, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Officiating will be Jack Comer, of Circle Drive Baptist Church in Bridge City.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Lubbock, Texas, on November 7, 1950, he was the son of Chauncey Callaway Gammill and Joe Mae (Jones) Gammill. James retired as a process operator for DuPont after many years of hard work. He was a talented artist who enjoyed etching designs into glass and spending time golfing. James was a faithful member of Circle Drive Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who adored his family more than anything. James left an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey and Joe Gammill; son, K.C. Gammill; sisters, Jacqueline Norris and Kathy Frames.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judith Gammill; children, Chon C. Gammill and wife Patti of Grapevine, Nicholas C. Gammill and wife Joy of Port Neches, and Adron C. Gammill and wife Sarah of Groves; grandchildren, Keira, Michael, T.J. Konrad, and Tate; and his fur baby Pickles.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chon Gammill, Nicholas Gammill, Adron Gammill, Chad Mirabella, and Clint Higginbotham. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Smith and David Ray Poole.
