James T. “Jimmy” Bland, Jr., 72, of Orange, passed away September 22, 2016, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX, after suffering a stroke.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend W.W. Smith of Pinehurst Pentecostal Church.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home in Orange.
Jimmy was born in Orange, TX on November 4, 1943. He proudly served in the United States Army. He was a pipefitter from Local 195 for 25 years. He loved being outside on his four wheeler, and as a lover of all animals, he enjoyed watching wild animals and feeding raccoons and wild hogs. Jimmy and his wife, Carolyn, had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He was a proud daddy to his daughter, Wendy, and son, Guy.
He was preceded in death by his father, James T. Bland, Sr.; mother, Ruby Lee Bland-Higdon; brother, Jerry Bland; and sister, Pamela Tauzan.
Those left to cherish his memories include his beloved wife, Carolyn Mosley Bland; daughter, Wendy Faulk and husband Steve of Orange; son, Guy T. Bland and wife Rachel of Orange; grandchildren, Ashley Gerald, Loren Valadez, and Savanna Rothenberger, all of Orange; great-grandchildren, Jaxen Mason, Parker Rothenberger, and Preslee Huffman; sister, Sharon Ellis; brother, Joshua Bland, Sr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

I worked with Jimmy for several years in the pipe fitting trade. He was always the kind of man you were happy to be around. Through our conversations I could tell he loved his family very much. I know he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
