Howard C. Bass, 88, of Orange, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2020, at his home in Orange.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2020, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Dr. Gary McCormick. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Born in Atlanta, Texas, on February 17, 1932, he was the son of Enoch Joshua Bass and Maggie Helen Bonner Bass. Howard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He went on to work as a Machinist for PPG Industries in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he retired from after 27 loyal years. Howard loved the Lord and was a devoted member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He enjoyed the outdoors and liked to spend time fishing whenever he could. Howard loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Maggie Bass; brothers, Daryl Bass and James Bass; and his sisters-in-law, Rhaetta Purvis and Patricia Anderson.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Helen Bass; daughters, Jenni Elizabeth Bass McJunkin and husband Daniel, Sarah Nancy Bass Torres and husband Johnny, and Rhaetta Ruth Bass Gennusa and husband Frank; grandchildren, Scott McJunkin, Erin McJunkin, Angelica Gennusa, Joseph Gennusa, and Taylor Gennusa; Kylie Adams, James Adams, Katherine Adams, Jason Adams, and Oliva McJunkin; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Gennusa, Dan McJunkin, Johnny Torres, Joseph Gennusa, and Scott McJunkin.
